Bonick Landscaping’s Core Values
Our core values define what sets our corporate culture apart. We take them to heart and integrate these principles as a philosophy for our daily lives.
Practice Servant Leadership
Pursue Excellence
Be a Creative Problem Solver
Embrace Team/Family First
Be Professional and Accountable
“I joined Bonick because the quality of the work and the company’s reputation stood out. I stayed because I saw real purpose here—an opportunity to help build something meaningful with a team committed to excellence.” – Pedro Mendez
Roots & Longevity
Just where did we find this incredible team? Referrals from friends and colleagues are the primary way our field staff learned about open positions at Bonick. Ignacio “Nacho” Rojas actually used to mow lawns with Glenn many moons ago, before Glenn had a family!
Our office staff hailed from numerous sources, including a local company merger and a venture all the way from the West Coast. These wonderful folks wanted to continue their professional growth and contribute to a company that aligns with their values. They love that we are always striving for improvement and raising the bar that defines our best.
“I love knowing that I am a part of what we create. Bonick is all about each person being a piece of the creation and result. We all have a part. It feels good knowing you have that place to use your strengths.” – Brandy Salinas
Not only has our company grown in size over the years, but we’ve stayed on top of trends and technology. New trucks, tools, and machinery have allowed our crew to work faster. They greatly appreciate this, along with the consistent 40-hour workweeks to support their families. They thrive upon their routine, enjoy the work, and the comfort level and camaraderie they share among the people they consider family.
Both groups value how our corporate culture emphasizes care for our work and for one another. As Lisa summarizes, “In an industry where beauty, care, and purpose come together,” our team takes pride in its quality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Culture & People
To say that this team considers each other family is an understatement.
“What really stands out is how we care for one another—not just in our roles, but in our lives outside of work. We celebrate each other’s milestones, support one another through challenges, and share in the little everyday moments that make us feel connected. Over the years, we’ve watched each other’s families grow, shared meals together, and created long-lasting friendships.”- Lisa Tran
Through team building events, seminars, outings, and regular staff meals, we have built relationships, strengthened accountability, expanded our skills, and enjoyed hours of fun together. We love learning more about one another’s strengths and how they complement each other to help us better succeed together.
“The culture here is collaborative and supportive. Everyone takes pride in their work, and there’s a real sense of teamwork—people are always willing to share ideas and help each other out. It’s a place where quality matters, but so does enjoying what we do.” – Bob Behling
Mentors and Leaders
“Glenn Bonick has been a rockstar in his knowledge and care for his jobs, clients, and employees. I knew I was in the right spot for my career.” – Todd Piascyzk
What determines leadership, and how do our staff see it show up in everyday work? It is evidenced in how we all interact with each other and work together as a team to solve problems.
Vice President of Construction, Pedro Mendez, considers leadership to be “being present, solutions-oriented, and willing to roll up their sleeves. Leadership here is about setting the tone and empowering the team.”
Landscape Designer, Todd Piascyzk notes how leadership is setting an example to everyone, regardless of rank. “Rain, heat, or cold, the crews are very dedicated to their craft, and to me, that is a sign of good leadership. Leadership also comes in allowing each team member to do what they do best.”
Landscape Designer, Michael Pappas, also cites Glenn as his inspiration for leadership. Pedro Mendez, notes that Glenn’s “vision and consistency have shaped not only the company but also my own approach to leadership.” Kind-hearted Services Coordinator, Brandy Salinas, has also appreciated Glenn’s encouragement over the years to stand her ground, as well as subtle reminders that “kick her in the pants” when needed.
Bob Behling, Pedro Mendez, Fernando Lopez, and even past employees, Ralph Edge, Brian Rogers, and Jon Rainey, were mentioned as staff members who greatly impacted each of these employees surveyed.
Our Clients & Craft
At Bonick, our discerning clients cherish creativity almost as much as pristine quality. As Bob Behling puts it, “They’re looking for more than just a landscape—they want a space that reflects their lifestyle and vision. That level of trust and collaboration makes every project feel personal and rewarding.” It’s this trust that motivates us to deliver at the highest level. We try to treat their homes as if they were ours, and it shows.
“We create spaces that enhance how they live—spaces where families connect, entertain, and make memories. I always try to inform my design with the client’s needs and likes/dislikes, while still keeping with my design aesthetic and philosophy.” – Michael Pappas
Estimator David Brown emphasizes how showing respect for our clients is reciprocal. “After all, they are giving us this great opportunity to create some very special and unique art. Without their vision and ability to provide these opportunities, none of us could do what we do.”
“Every project we complete transforms a space into something that feels personal and meaningful for the client. It’s not just about creating a beautiful landscape—it’s about designing an environment that enhances their lifestyle and makes their home feel complete. Seeing that joy and satisfaction in the client’s reaction is what makes the work so rewarding.” – Bob Behling
Our crew also appreciates their clients’ kindness and generosity; those cool beverages on scorching hot summer days and expressing their gratefulness for a job well done mean the world to them.
Pride & Workmanship
“Watching the client’s reaction—the excitement and appreciation—was unforgettable. It reminded me why all the effort is worth it.” – Bob Behling
A job well done is evidenced by its reflection and our clients’ reactions. Our team takes ownership and pride in their workmanship; In turn, our clients appreciate that our staff understands the importance of attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship.
Some of our team’s favorite projects involve technical complexity, stunning design, and extensive detail, so that when they stand back to admire them, they are reminded why they love what they do. From meadows of native plants and unique Mediterranean gardens to expansive collaborative projects with technical difficulty, here are a few projects that stand out in our employees’ minds.
“One of the greatest memories I have at Bonick Landscaping was participating in the CANstruction Events that benefited the Dallas Food Bank. They took weeks of planning, a total team effort for a full day to build and the great satisfaction of contributing to a great organization. It was a lot of fun!” -David Brown
Memories & Milestones
Each of these esteemed team members treasures different moments from their time here at Bonick. To some, the awards and recognition or promotions take precedence. To others, it’s the unexpected little things that elicit a crew belly laugh or the events where they can let loose and be themselves. Whether it’s an award ceremony, the office staff cooking Christmas breakfast for the crew, or a water balloon fight that breaks out at a summer cookout, each of these memories makes our team feel valued, and that’s what it’s all about.
“Once, we had a new hire tell us he didn’t need a shovel because he could dig with his hands. We tried to tell him we didn’t think it was a great idea. After about an hour of digging with his hands, the guy said, “Ok, you all were right—where is that shovel?” – Lazaro Valenzuela
“It’s the everyday moments that stick with me — the inside jokes that start for no reason and somehow last for years, the quick chats that turn into full heart-to-heart conversations, and the way we can all laugh through even the busiest days. Those small, funny, and unexpectedly touching moments have created a kind of shared rhythm that feels like family. It’s those little behind-the-scenes bits of life together that truly define my time here.” – Lisa Tran
“When we moved offices from Brockbank to Maryland Drive—it was really a sign of our growth—leaving behind where we had been and moving on to where we want to be and the new possibilities.” – Brandy Salinas
Reflections on Ten+ Years
“I have been blessed to work with a diverse group of people at Bonick. Everyone is different and yet we all come together to problem solve on a daily basis. Family is the key to a strong group and we show respect to each other, even if we do not work in their department.” – Todd Piasczyk
Our field team has not only educated themselves on plants and trees, but they’ve also learned all around responsibility that carries over into every aspect of life. Mario says his knowledge has helped him grow and become a better person. They all agree that their evolution has brought them great pride and satisfaction, and they feel valued as employees.
Pedro Mendez wishes to “continue to lead the industry, expanding our capabilities, and staying grounded in the values that built our reputation.”
Overall, our tenured employees hope that the future holds continued growth alongside staying true to our roots with the same value, heart, and passion we hold dear.
