As a landscape designer and swimming pool builder, I am in the business of pool designs, pool installation, pool remodeling and resurfacing, and pool maintenance. What motivates me is seeing clients, their families, and friends enjoy the projects we build and maintain for them and I like the thought that we improve the lives of families with our work. Obviously, for our clients the real fun begins after the pool installation is done. With that in mind, here are a few of our favorite trending luxury pool toys, games, and accessories.

If you follow celebrities like Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber, you’re probably aware of the biggest trend out there today in pool floats (it echoes the concept behind much of Claus Oldenberg’s artwork): oversized (scale is the crux of the trend) inflatable pool floats in forms that range from swans and unicorns to rubber duckies and doughnuts.
Taking a cue from this trend, pool noodles are also being supersized and now come in whimsical designs such as a Tootsie Roll or pack of Smarties.
Floating drink coasters take scale in the opposite direction, downsizing classic children’s float designs for individual floating drinks; a fun idea for a pool party.
Too hot to get out of the pool to grab a drink? No worries. Floating beverage coolers are all the rage this year and come in a variety of styles and sizes. The Intex Mega Chill II Float Cooler includes a removable, inflatable ice chest (or you can use your own up-to-48-quarts ice chest). It also features six cup holders.
Floating pool speakers are one of the most fun and enjoyable trends in pool swag this year and it’s easy to see why. They offer good sound quality and are reasonably priced, connecting wirelessly to your audio output via Bluetooth. One of the most popular is the Ivation Waterproof Bluetooth Floating Speaker. It’s shaped like a mini-beach ball and is weighted to keep the speaker right side up and 35% above water at all times. It requires 6AA batteries and has a strong clear signal up to 33 feet.
