Bonick’s landscape architect and designer collaborated with architect, Manolo Design Studio and interior designer, Dana Card on this exquisite Highland Park estate. Our client is an avid gardener and plant lover whose travels take her to gardens around the globe, so she wanted hers to embody an English cottage-garden feel. She also requested that the parterre garden be primarily composed of white flowers. To achieve this, we planted red maple, Japanese maple, boxwood, holly, magnolia althea, hydrangea, azalea, and climbing roses around this charming home.
As a collector of outdoor sculptures and fountains, our client wanted to include those into the design. So, we curated and installed her art throughout the garden, along with container plantings, antiqued lead pottery, and custom metal trellises, illuminating each appropriately for evening viewing. For relaxation, we added a simple, serene, rectangular pool with weathered limestone paving and walkway, and sculptural water feature.
