Mockingbird

Our client wanted to convert an existing sports court into an adult patio space. The 12″ concrete slab presented a challenge, but we were able to cut into the old sports court to create a functional spa and water feature and manipulate the foundation to include the fireplace. We updated the concrete with an elegant porcelain tile and added a painted steel structure for ambiance and sun relief. A masonry wall featuring a smoker, grill, and pizza oven, and surrounding landscaping frames a cozy fireside seating area with outdoor television. Due to existing trees, we used shade-tolerant plants, including ferns, yews, liriope, and ajuga groundcovers. Cast stone container plantings infuse a burst of seasonal color to this outdoor living space.
