Our client purchased a high-rise penthouse and was looking to enhance their balcony experience while keeping a low maintenance yet lush rooftop garden year-round. Our team collaborated with several industry partners on this Uptown renovation.
The flooring renovation included Moso Bamboo decking, porcelain pavers, and artificial turf. We also created a steel cantilever structure with v-groove ceiling and a freestanding aluminum structure for a reprieve from the sun. Tucci umbrellas create additional shade and a fire bowl brings warmth for chilly evenings. Specialty faux planting was installed in planters to meet our client’s low maintenance request.
One unique challenge to this high-rise project was transporting materials up to the 31st floor. Some traveled in an 8’x7′ elevator with a 3,000lb weight limit, while larger structural beams had to be hoisted via the window cleaning trolley.
