Kessler Parkway

Architect: RGDB (Rene Gracia)

Our landscape architect collaborated with architect, Rene Gracia, of RGDB, to create a full master plan for this Kessler Park home. Our challenge was to preserve the existing trees on the site and work along the stream bank. Our client wanted a natural garden that accentuated the woodland feel of the property, so we planted red maple, cedar elm, river birch, sycamore, dogwood, and redbud trees along with hydrangeas, beautyberry, and Turk’s Cap around the property. To immerse them in their surroundings, we added an Ipe yoga deck overlooking the creek with silver mist boulder stepping stones.

The front garden showcases a specially honed granite boulder water feature as its focal point, surrounded by rock and natural plantings of agave, salvia, and catmint, along with several river birch for height and shade.

For the backyard, we worked alongside the architect to achieve a seamless flow to the indoor-outdoor space. To achieve this, we used complementary materials to the home, including Moso natural porcelain paving for pool decking, 4” thick limestone coping around the pool, and an architecturally finished concrete retaining wall.
